Carol Taylor - What Constitutes Good Care at the End of Life (video)

The National Press Foundation posted this 45-minute webinar with Carol Taylor.  It covers what constitutes good care at the end of life; the ethical discussion around the right to die, including Brittany Maynard and other current cases.

I particularly liked her ranking of mechanisms of last resort from least to most controversial (separating VSED from non-voluntary VSED):

  1. Standard pain management

  2. Forgoing life-sustaining treatment

  3. VSED

  4. PSU

  5. Aid in Dying

  6. Non-voluntary VSED

  7. Voluntary Active Euthanasia
